sandy vasquez-arth

 Sandy graduated from Saint Bonaventure High School in 1990. She excelled in basketball, track, cross country, and volleyball. Sandy earned 4 year varsity letters in both basketball and track. In basketball, she helped the girls’ basketball team win its first Tri-Valley League Title. Sandy earned a spot on Ventura County’s All Star team, All CIF –SS, All Tri-Valley League and holds the record for the most assists in one game. Sandy helped guide the 1990 girls’ basketball team to the semifinals of the Southern Section playoffs, which was the first for Saint Bonaventure girls’ basketball. As a point guard, she helped her team achieve several accomplishments such as, first to win more than one playoff game, most wins in a season, most consecutive wins and most league wins.
In track, as a freshman, Sandy set records for 100 and 200 meter sprint, 440 relay, and long jump. In the same year she received the Tri-Valley League Honorable Mention Award. Throughout her high school years, she competed each year in the CIF-SS finals in several different events.
Sandy was one of the first girls to receive an athletic scholarship in which she accepted a basketball scholarship to California Baptist University where she attended for two years. After her second year, she transferred to California State University of San Bernardino and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice. Sandy spent several years in law enforcement as a probation officer and deputy sheriff. After seven years as a deputy sheriff with Ventura County, she decided to further her education and received a Master’s Degree in Business Administration and Accounting.
Sandy currently resides in Ventura with her husband, Aaron, and two boys, Adam and Davin. She currently works at Saint Bonaventure High School part time and enjoys spending every moment possible with her family.
