Kevin Zoll is a 1990 graduate of St. Bonaventure High School. While at St. Bonaventure Kevin participated in Basketball and Baseball. Even though he was a starter in Basketball, he left his mark on the baseball program. He was a 4 year Varsity starter and was selected to the All TVL team all four seasons. He was named the TVL’s Most Valuable Player twice in 1989 and 1990. He was a three time All CIF-SS selection. Kevin was also a two time All Ventura County pick and was the Ventura County Most Valuable Player in 1990. Kevin was also the first St. Bonaventure baseball player selected to the All-State team a feat that he accomplished twice after the 1989 and 1990 seasons. He opened the door for more Seraphs to be recognized for this honor and 6 more have followed in his footsteps.
It was the Seraph Baseball Record book where he left his mark. At the time of his graduation he held the single season records for Most Plate Appearances, Most At Bats, Runs Scored, Hits, Singles, Batting Average and Slugging Percentage. His .549 batting average and .690 On Base Percentage in 1990 still stand as the Seraph Standards. He also had a 21 game hitting streak that is still a Seraph best. On the mound, he set single season records for Wins, Strikeouts, Games Pitched, Games Started, Complete Games, Innings Pitched, Lowest On Base Percentage allowed, Consecutive Complete Games, and Consecutive Games with out a walk. At the time of graduation, he held 7 career batting records and EVERY career pitching record available.
For his career Kevin batted .414. He had 109 hits (one of only 4 Seraphs to reach Century mark) at time of graduation which ranked 2nd at the time all time in Ventura County. He went the entire 1990 season ( 89 plate appearances) without striking out a single time. In 312 career plate appearances he struck out only 8 times , only twice looking. He is one of only 6 pitchers in Ventura County history to record 30 wins in his career finishing with 31 ( # 2 all time on Seraph list). He still ranks in the top 3 of almost every career pitching mark in the Seraph record book . His hallmark game had to be the No-Hitter he threw at Fillmore in 1990 in a battle for 1st place with not one Fillmore ball leaving the infield.
Kevin is married to former Seraph Diane (Goyeneche) . They make their home in Ventura with their children Nicolas and Olivia.
