KEVIN KELLY

From the SBHS class of 1971, Kevin was a multi-sport athlete who earned 10 Varsity Letters during his athletic career at Saint Bonaventure High School. Kevin was a four-year starter for the Varsity Baseball Team. As a centerfielder he was a key member on the 1970 CIF Championship Baseball Team. In 1969 & 1970 he was Voted to the All-League Team. In 1971 the Team won the League Championship. He was slected to the All-CIF Team, was the League MVP and Team MVP. Hitting .404 while leading in other team leading statistics. Kevin was a three-year starter for the Varsity Football Team playing both offense and defense. In 1968, He was a starting defensive back on the SBHS "FIRST" CIF Championship Football Team. During his football career at SBHS received several All-League awards. Kevin was a two-year Varsity Letterman on the Varsity Basketball Team. In 1971 he was selected to the All-League Team and was the Team MVP averaging in double figures. In 1971 Kevin also ran on the SBHS track team recieving his 10th-Varsity Letter. He participated in the League Championship Meet competing in the 100 meter and 400 meter relay. The 400 meter relay team qualified for CIF making it to the quarter finals of CIF. In 1972 & 1973 Kevin went on to play Football and Baseball at Ventura Community College. In 1974 & 1975 Kevin went on to California State University Sacramento. Kevin was a starting outfielder on CSUS Baseball Team. CSUS won their conference both years and went on to play in the NCAA tournament each of those years. Kevin was a Assistant Varsity Softball at Buena High School from 1988 to 1997. During his coaching ca-reer at Buena the team won the 1989 4A CIF Championship. In 1988 was CIF Runner-up. Buena won the Channel League Title Ten Years in row. (A Big Thanks to Head Coach Sharon Coggins) Kevin is married to Liz and they have four daughters and one son. Krystal, Kasey, Ashley, Nyna & Erick. He retired in 2006 from the State of California. Kevin continues to be involved and remains loyal to Saint Bon-aventure High School and its Athletic progam. I am so proud that the "Pride, Poise & Perfection" attributes developed so many years ago continues to this very day.
