Gilbert Infante was a 2001 graduate of St. Bonaventure High School. He was a four year starting pitcher for the Seraphs baseball team having set many SBHS records and leading the team to four straight trips to the CIF-SS play-off semi-finals and earning All Tri Valley League, All Ventura County and All-CIF 1st team honors during his high school career. He was also named Ventura County Pitcher of the Year after his junior season.

At the time of his graduation he held school records for most games pitched and innings in a season, most strikeouts in a game (16) season (107) and career (318). He also held the record for most career shutouts (6) and total games played (89). He became only the 2nd 10 game winner in a season in school history when he wemt 10-1 his junior year. His 29 career wins were the 2nd most in school history trailing only SBHS Hall of Famer Kevin Zoll (31). He still holds the school career records for games pitched and started, and strikeouts. His Season mark of strikeouts also still stands. An outstanding first baseman, he also set and holds the career record at first base for highest fielding percentage (.974). He was most outstanding in the postseason leading the Seraphs on 4 incredible runs. He posted a record of 9 wins against only 2 losses and recorded 3 saves during his high school postseason career. He went on to continue his pitching career at Oxnard College and Fresno State University.

At Oxnard College, he earned first team All Western State Conference honors while making the Dean’s list both semesters. He moved onto Fresno State where he pitched for the Bulldogs from 2003-2005. He was a 2003 WAC Scholar athlete and a 2004-2005 academic All-WAC selection. He graduated from Fresno State University in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminology. He is currently working for the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation-Division of Juvenile Justice as a Youth Correctional Counselor. He resides in Oxnard with his financee Angela Beesley of Oxnard.

Gilbert is extremely grateful for all the love and support from his family, friends, and coaches while attending Saint Bonaventure as they have been instrumental in his success today.
