Erin Croasmun-Vanek is a 1998 graduate of St. Bonaventure. She made her mark on the Soccer Pitch as a 4 year starter on the Varsity Soccer team. She ended her career with 69 career goals and 58 assists. She was 4 time All Tri Valley League selection as well being honored All CIF all four seasons. She started her Freshman year as a Sweeper earning All TVL and All CIF honors. Her Sophomore year she moved up to the front line as a Striker and scored 16 goals with 11 assists to help lead the Seraphs to the Tri Valley League championship with an overall record of 19 wins 1 loss and 5 draws. She earned 1st team honors on both the TVL and CIF-SS lists. She also won the Seraphs Best Offensive Player Award.
As a Junior she was able to better those numbers by ringing up 23 goals and 18 assists in leading the Seraphs to another TVL crown and an overall record of 18-2. They made a memorable run through the CIF play-offs but fell just short of their goal, losing in the semi-finals. Erin once again was voted 1st team All TVL and 1st team All CIF. She was named as the Seraphs Most Valuable Player.
Her Senior year was a year to remember. She was the team Captain and scored a whopping 30! Goals to go along with 29 assists. The Seraphs were once again TVL champs and this time they ran the table in the play-offs earning the school their first and only CIF SS Soccer Championship. The girls finished with a record of 24-2-2. Erin once again gained All TVL and All CIF 1st team honors. On top of that, she won the St. Bonaventure Leadership Award and was selected by the Ventura County Star as their Girls Soccer Player of the Year. To top it off, she was named as St. Bonaventure’s Senior Female Scholar Athlete.
She moved on to play Soccer at Ohio Wesleyan University helping lead the team to a 4 year record of 76-9-1. She started each of the 86 games the team played in scoring 24 goals and 18 assists in her collegiate career. The team won 3 North Coast Athletic Conference Championships and advanced to the post-season each year winning a National Championship along the way.
Erin graduated from OWU in 2002 with a Bachelor of Arts in Sports Science and Physical Education and a Master of Education from Kent State University. She is currently a Health and Physical Education teacher at Parma ( OH) Senior High School where she coached varsity Soccer for 3 years.
Erin has been happily married to Jamie Vanek for 5 years and looks forward to many more wonderful years. They look forward to having children who love sports as much as they do and hope they experience many priceless moments to carry on with them throughout their lifetime. Erin is extremely grateful for all the love and support she has received and continues to receive from her husband, family, friends, coaches, teachers, etc. She can only hope to make such an impressionable impact on some of her students that you have made on her.
