DINA PALMISANO-POTERAKE

While at St. Bonaventure High School, Dina earned 9 Varsity letters in basketball, softball, cheerleading and track. Dina was also a member of CFS and on the Honor Roll.
Dina was a starting basketball player for 4 years, was a team captain, holds several school records and led her team in scoring, rebounding, steals and free-throws made and attempted. Named All Tri-Valley League Honorable Mention in 1978; First Team All Tri Valley League in 1979 and 1980; Ventura County All-County All Star Team and All Ventura County Team in 1980. In addition, Dina was the team MVP in 1979 and 1980.
As a softball player, Dina played 2nd base, was a starter, team captain and team MVP. In 1978 Dina was named to the Tri-Valley League All League team and TVL 1st team in 1979 and 1980.
Dina participated in Varsity Cheerleading in 1980.
Dina also received honors in Lifestyle, English, Student Athlete and Scholastic Performance. She was named Kiwanis Scholar-Athlete of the Year in 1980.
After graduating from high school Dina attended Ventura College and was a starting forward on the Basketball team. She received several awards and was named All WSC First team in 1981 and 1982. From there Dina went to Sonoma State University and again played Basketball and was team captain. She was named Nor Cal All League 1st team in 1983 and 1984. Dina received her Bachelor of Arts History/Physical Education from Sonoma State in 1984 and a Master of Science degree from California State University Northridge in 1991.
Dina is currently an assistant women’s basketball coach at Santa Clara High School and has 32 years of coaching experience. Dina resides in Ventura with her husband James Poteracke and has three children; Brieanna, Lukas and Joseph .
