Educator, leader, servant, with a vision that so easily crinkles into a smile, an eye that twinkles with friendliness, and a lilting Irish accent—his devotion and dedication to Saint Bonaventure for over 28 years best describes Brother Paul.
Brother Paul came to Saint Bonaventure in 1979 as a math and science teacher and became principal in 1986. With a passion for education he states that “it is most vital to generate in each student a love of learning so… that each person becomes a life-long learner.” With a zeal for education, an eye for progress, and a hand devoted to service, Brother Paul has integrated that philosophy into his quest to educate.
Saint Bonaventure has witnessed many improvements under his guidance including the addition of computers in the classrooms, the construction of the baseball field in Saticoy, the expansion of the gym with a foyer and co-ed weight room, additional restrooms and most recently, the upgraded field complex. In addition to physical additions to the campus, Brother Paul has continued to expand the array of classes offered and the addition of advanced placement classes. The student body has also increased during his tenure.
Brother Paul possesses a heartfelt respect for the students and states, “Looking back over the years, I constantly was reminded that each student is a unique and special creation with distinct, God-given gifts and talents.”
Brother Paul has had a lasting influence upon the students, families, faculty, and staff of Saint Bonaventure. They appreciate his compassion and generosity. He will leave behind a tremendous legacy
